What exactly is Microblading?

Microblading is a permanent cosmetic tattoo that is applied with a very fine bundle of needles, a hand tool and cosmetic pigment, mimicking the natural hair of an eyebrow. This method can be used to fill in gaps, cover scars, or create a more flattering shape. Microblading makes it possible to transform any eyebrows into the closest thing to naturally perfect.

When done properly and following aftercare, it creates a soft and natural illusion of a real brow. The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into the existing hairs.

The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brow appears darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.

The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on different factors such as clients skin type, sun exposure and chemicals contained in creams and beauty products applied to the skin which could fade and break down the pigment sooner. A retouch once a year is recommended to retain the shape and freshen the color.

How do I prepare for my permanent makeup appointment?

  • Results are not guaranteed. Many factors affect healing, including after care, skin type, medications, sun exposure, anti-aging products and body chemistry. If you have any questions on whether you might be a good candidate or not, please read the list below or contact me before booking.  If you are currently under a doctor’s care, you MUST clear it with a doctor and get a doctor’s note before booking.
  • The goal is for the skin to be as insensitive to the procedure as possible to limit bleeding.
  • For Lash Enhancement or Eyeliner tattoo you must be off any lash growth serums for at LEAST 8 weeks**  It will bleed, swell, and not stick.  Lash extensions MUST be removed at least 5 days before.
  • If you're currently taking antibiotics you must wait at least 6 weeks once you've finished before getting a procedure.
  • Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks on the day of treatment.
  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment. (If you bleed excessively the pigment will not hold well)
  • Do not take omega3 (fish oil) 1 week before treatment.
  • Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 5 days before treatment.
  • No waxing 2-3 days before treatment.
  • No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser or any other intense treatments 2 weeks before treatment.
  • If you use Botox, It should be preformed at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment or at least 2 weeks after.
  • If you are a frequent smoker the topical anesthetic will not last as long.
  • If you think you may be allergic or too sensitive, I offer a patch test a week prior to the tattoo appointment.
  • Come to your appointment with your eyebrows penciled the way you like them (optional).

If you are currently under a doctor’s care, you MUST clear it with a doctor and get a doctor’s note before booking.
